In Adolescence, each male and female undergoes many physical and psychological changes. But, they do not get the accurate information about these changes. Besides, there is plenty of chances for being misled by circumstances and peer pressure. Hence, they need appropriate counselling.
The students of IX and XI standard orient themselves to life skills and wellness. The sole objective of this Club is to create a society without HIV / AIDS and also to generate awareness among students and teachers. We Started “RED RIBBON CLUB” under able guidance of our principal, Mr. M. Krishnamurthy, with the motto of “Prevention is better than cure”.
The Club Members spread awareness about HIV / AIDS. Incharge teachers and Staff take part in various Camps and Seminars conducted by DIET, Health Department and National Aids Control Organisation from time to time.The Red Ribbon Club of Kongu Matric Higher Secondary School, Uthukuli has won many commendations and laurels with the slogan “ LIVE and LET LIVE” Our Club follows the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended 10 life skills such as empathy, problem solving skills, interpersonal relationship, creative thinking, critical thinking, coping with stress, managing feeling and emotions, self awareness, decision making and effective communication skill; as an acronym they are called EPIC3 MADE.
